First, Roll Call is a DC establishment-oriented publication and has never been pro-Trump, so don't expect an accurate assessment of Trump's or Vance's policies. The author of this piece has experience covering labor issues (with a labor bias).

Second, Vance isn't going to be president, Trump is...and Trump understands that, with some exceptions, what is good for business is good for labor. Trump understands that the minimum wage, for example, is good for no one but the Democrats buying votes for specious reasons.

Rooster, you are right that Vance isn’t the Presidential candidate. Given that fact, I found his acceptance speech to be fine. Within the limits a Vice President must respect, his speech was interesting. In contrast, Kamala Harris comes across like an idiot.

The people getting “affordable housing” can work for less than those not getting it.

To prevent bottom fishing by employers, a legal minimum wage, with exceptions for say unincorporated businesses and people out of work for over a state set amount, is necessary.

It takes about an hour to fill out an employment application, and 10 seconds for an employer to toss it aside because the applicant had the temerity to ask for $5/hour.

People getting minimum wage level amounts generally aren’t investing it. An extra dollar per hour normally gets quickly fed back to business.

That gas badly gone askew. Open borders are good for business. Relocating all production to outside America is good for business. Big pharma mandates, legal TV advertising are good for business. The list goes on….
Wall Street and bankers stopped being American. JD is in the right mindset.
