I've lost friends and acquaintances from this disease. Not one has beaten it.
That said, what a bunch of classy remarks from my fellow FReepers.
Contrast our kind observations with the Dems icky remarks about the tragedy and near tragedy earlier in the week.
Alas, that will be up to inside-the-loop Houstonians. They will likely give us someone more intelligent but more effective at destroying America than SJL.
May God rest her soul!
Tale of two friends: One took every treatment available and lived with it for almost six years. He continued to be active and played golf regularly for much of that time, even though the treatments themselves were temporarily debilitating. He was a shell of himself the last two years.
The other friend studied the options and took no treatments at all. She was a bright experienced mechanical engineer. She traveled to many places around the West and to Europe with her grown family. Finally the cancer caught up with her and she died in a few weeks. She had a wonderful final year.
There’s no right answer.
I also wish her family well. R.I.P.
Every flight attendant working the Reagan to Houston routes feels just a bit safer now.
My aunt lasted about 6 months. First case of any cancer in my family from either side.
Here’s hoping.
Oh.
She’s going to have to wait her turn for her “half master”. It’s goes to Corey Comperatore first.
My neighbor is now two years in on pancreatic cancer. A strong wind could take her at any moment.
I wanted her gone years ago…but not this way.
I’d take option 2 if it was me.
Any cancer is terrible and pancreatic cancer is the worst of the worst. I don’t wish it on anyone and hope she didn’t suffer, may she rest in peace.
So she just had to stay in office until the day she died? She thought she, and the seat she I guess thought she owned, were too damn important?... To herself?
Screw these politicians who care nothing about the people, and sorry, but I don’t owe people like her any respect and she earned it.
Rest in Peace, my foe.
Peace to your family.
Wow, she went fast. I remember Michael Landon went in the Tonight Show to talk about his cancer and it wasn’t too long after that that he was gone.
RIP.
Pancreatic cancer is a beast. My grandpa died from it. It took him quickly, about the same as SJL.
Prayers for her family and friends.
Very nasty stuff.
*went on...
