In a new memo obtained by NBC News, the campaign’s battleground states director, Dan Kanninen, says that despite intense media coverage on Democratic divisions, organizers talking to voters consistently found that issues such as women’s rights and the potential GOP agenda of Project 2025 are paramount.
“While voters consistently mention President Biden’s age when contacted, our target voters — both re-engagement and true swing voters — are still planning to vote for him, making it clear the debate has not hurt support among the voters who will decide this election,” he writes in the memo.
Kanninen says he won’t “sugar coat the state of the race: we have our work cut out for us to win this November.” But he underscored what Biden has said repeatedly since his poor debate performance — that he is “in it to win it.”
“He’s the presumptive nominee, there is no plan for an alternative nominee. In a few short weeks, Joe Biden will be the official nominee,” he writes. “It is high past time we stop fighting one another. The only person who wins when we fight is Donald Trump.”
Biden advisers have privately warned Democrats in recent weeks that the messy mechanics of potentially replacing Biden at the top of the ticket could only further divide the party. Vice President Kamala Harris would most neatly inherit the existing campaign infrastructure, campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez told donors shortly after the debate, but the process around choosing a new nominee could be messy and complicated.

Democrats have a women problem. Jill and Kamala. So far Jill won’t budge and Kamala does not have the emotional or intellectual temperment to be a Preisidential candidate. Yet they cannot easily bypass both. If they try to dump Kamala there will be riots at the Democratic convention in and out of the arena. Unlikely to have a seamless post Biden transition. Hence for now, despite the lack of support and the money spigot turned off, its still Biden as the candidate.
My thoughts exactly. They REALLY want him out this weekend, and if that happens, then it makes their whole campaign to have planned this very scenario, along with OTHER major events. Like on schedule.
If it doesn’t happen, then there plans dissolve.
I don’t think they ever expected Trump to survive.
If the price is right. Heard one rumor went toward Biden’s vanity. If he does not exit there will be no donations to a Biden Presidential Library.
Yep, Jill and Hunter aren’t going to let it end this way. Leaks just makes everyone within the Democratic party look like scumbags, so why give them what they want?
The Democrats could have 25th’d him after the debate. They wouldn’t be in this mess now had they done that.

Joe or Jill should just come right out and tell the worried democrats that the fix is already in and functional, even a goat can run and win the election as a democrat.
If Biden stays in and hobbles towards the election in November, they will need many, many more fake ballots from drop boxes to pull this off again. I mean, we’re talking 90 million ‘votes’ to beat President Trump.
I hope and pray our party knows what it’s doing and has an effective fraud counter-plan in place this time. This simply cannot happen again.
