Most of the detail would normally *not* be actual Secret Service, only the PDD, operations, and a few others. That would not excuse the apparent level of training we saw, nor the complete lack of operational control, nor some horrible decisions (DoSS saying they DECIDED not to put people on that building because of the slope).

And what a coincidence that an assassin just happens to pick this event to target Trump.

One of the questions that needs to be answered, is whether or not this was actually uniquely bad operations, or whether they were perhaps doing even worse earlier and no one tried them. How long has it been this messed up, and did no one care or did the command ignore warnings of the clearly poor standards, training, and operations?

The woman with the bun was off away from the podium when the first shot went off, but seemed like she came to help the big guys. She was clearly too short for the role she took.

The woman in the darker pantsuit seemed completely out of her league, and was reported as not being actually part of the regular detail. It’s entirely possible the dark-haired woman was just trying to help in a situation she was not trained for. There are lots of roles to security, and not everyone on the outer areas needs to be the buff giant.

The security was definitely horribly inadequate, but we don’t yet know what each person was ‘supposed’ to be doing. The dark-haired woman was so mismatched with everyone else that I am willing to believe she might just have been ancillary.

Undoubtedly, but these events are not rare. Plenty of time to have worked out the bugs, and gotten used to those things. The local police and the Secret Service SHOULD have been on different channels so as to not clutter up communications...with someone in Operations listening to all of them and a free channel to direct appropriate people to.

And the locals should have had a few classes on what to expect before the PDD got there.

Did the DHS agents portray themselves to local law enforcement and to the Trump team as being actual SS Agents? Who authorized this substitution? That person is culpable for the death of an innocent civilian and the serious wounding of two other people.
