There’s a meme that I wish I had saved. To the effect that “on the outside, I seem fine; on the inside, I want to buy another gun.”
Actually, we need ammo and range time more than anything. The wife and I are swapping handguns. She can’t pull the slide back on hers (admittedly, it’s a bit stiff). My suggestion that she get stronger went over about as expected.
Only sixth highest?
C’mon, people, get out there and buy, buy buy!
I remember 1970 or 1971, The Denver Post had an article in it’s Sunday magazine about the evils of the US made SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL handgun!
Foreign imports of such had been banned from the US with the 1968 gun control law. It said basically all handguns that cost less than $45 were Saturday Night Specials. For an illustration it showed a Ruger Mk II. That would be $364 today.
And you could get a brand new in box Winchester 1894 rifle for $45 back then.
Still, it shows that people are either scared or getting prepared, or maybe both.
