It’s obnoxious. Large corporations have IT departments who can roll out an OS install from an image, and have a lot of their systems and policies cooked right in.
Small businesses have to jailbreak the OOBE just to make a local account and then set up the domain user.
I prefer linux but it’s not ideal for business.
Microsoft got this idea from Apple. Push cloud services as an excuse to force an authenticated identity. In fact, Apple had it baked right in to their devices because you have to log into your apple account to install apps.
That makes Microsoft jealous with envy, which is why they are now no longer happy to just force you to use a microsoft account to use their OS, but they are pushing two factor authentication to get everyone’s phone numbers and further aggregate their spy data.
A whole lot of business runs on Linux.
