Thanks—there are so many interesting tidbits about the JFK assassination.
One of my favorites is a shouting match (over the phone) between JFK and LBJ the day before the assassination.
JFK had decided he wanted the Texas governor (John Connally) to be in his vehicle in the parade in Dallas. LBJ called up JFK and started screaming at him that it should be Senator Yarborough instead. JFK insisted it was Connally and of course Connally was wounded in the assassination.
There have been rumors (not proven at this point) that Connally was involved in some elements of the assassination plot. If true he would have known that he was about to be “collateral damage” and there was nothing he could do about it.
