More than 200 congressional staffers sign letter protesting Netanyahu address

More than 200 anonymous staff members across 122 Democratic and Republican congressional offices signed a letter this week calling for Congress to protest or boycott Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech next week on Capitol Hill, citing concerns about the ongoing war in Gaza.

The letter, organized by the Congressional Progressive Staff Associationa nd signed by 230 House and Senate staffers, said speaking out against Netanyahu’s July 24 joint address to Congress was an “issue of morality” and not politics.

“Citizens, students, and lawmakers across the country and the world have spoken out against the actions of Mr. Netanyahu in his War on Gaza,” the letter reads. “Israelis have been protesting in the streets for months, decrying his failure to negotiate a ceasefire and release of hostages. We hope you will join your fellow Members of Congress in protest at his speech or in refusing to attend it.”

Good! Circulate the list of signatures and make sure none of them work in a position of power and responsibility in the future.

If it is anonymous it is fake. Congress needs to fire its staff and start all new ver with new talent.

This is hilarious...how can you be anonymous and yet sign something at the same time with you signature? Makes no sense.

If it’s truly an issue of morality, then these Karens oughta man-up and identify themselves.

If they are anonymous how can anyone be sure it wasn’t one staffer signing “anonymous” 200 times?

How do 200 sign and be anonymous? Either you signed or you did not. How many from dems and how many from repub? Will never know because it is anonymous (or made up).

Republican? If its one or two Republican staffers, this article is incredibly deceiving. If its more than one or two, we have to question who Republican Congressional officeholders are hiring.

So what? It’s just more permanent goverment types (yes, many congressional staffers have been “working for” Congress longer than many House and Senate members) that think THEY - not the elected officials, are THE GOVERNMENT.
