Yeah, I kind of get what you’re saying, but in a way I view this as two separate speeches. The first part was poignant, and touched the right tone. Now he’s back to being Trump the fighter again. It’s as if he’s saying, “Alright, I’m going to take a few minutes to reflect on the historic events of the past few days and how I felt...and then when I’m done, I’m getting right back to work”. He even said at the beginning of the speech that he would only be talking about the events of Saturday one time. Now he’s back into fighting mode.

No, no damage from this. I realize we are into short speeches, 30 second summaries and all, but that’s not our history. Look at our candidates and orators in the past couple hundred years. Pause it if you need a break, finish it later.
