Nothing worse than being bit by a democrat politician. A deadly infection of liberalism could ensue. There is a cure, but, liberals have built-in resistance to conservatism.
I saw this on the (NYC-) local news this morning. It’s become more common for Council members to get arrested during protests and counter-protests. A council woman was arrested at a counter-protest for having a firearm in a “sensitive place” under a recently-passed state law. Those charges were later dropped when it was determined that the gun was inoperable. It’s a weird “badge of honor” for many.
What was more surprising than the bite was the demographics and location of the protest. When I was in HS in the mid-1990s Bensonhurst was overwhelmingly Italian with pockets of Russians and Chinese... along with a handful of older, reform or non-hasidic Jews.
The crowd of 100 or so people protesting were Chinese/East Asian. That subway stop (25th Ave/86th St) was where I would get off the train to visit my girlfriend (who was Italian). That neighborhood has changed so much over the past 30 years. I used Google Street View and the Pizzeria that was under the train station (she used to love their rice balls, they would put peas in them) is now a pharmacy. All of the businesses have signs that are in Chinese and English. Wow.
