I have kids and they’re in their twenties and they are getting off of social media 100%. They are having kids and they want no photos of their kids online. So, it’s not unreasonable to think that this creep didn’t have an online presence. I’m seeing more and more of it in that age group.
Well, I’m a millennial, and a 20yo would consider me elderly, no doubt.
But very, very few people under 30 have no social media presence whatsoever. Maybe the Mennonites and Amish — I know quite a few here in rural PA.
On the other hand, a “loner” like Crooks was said to be, is rather unlikely to have NO online activity. On the contrary, what he can’t achieve in actual, real-life society, he will avidly pursue online, where anonymity compensates for whatever shortcomings he has in face-to-face encounters. Online, no one detects his stutter, his acne, his twitch, his wall-eye, his odor, or his Ned’s-plaque-psoriasis.
Same for my kids and their friends.
