He can remedy the situation—all he has to do is start talking about the comms.
When did SS first see the shooter on the roof?
Did they talk into their comms about it?
Who did they notify?
Whose responsibility was it to notify the SS on stage when/if there was an imminent threat?
Was that notification given?
If so by who?
Was the notification received?
If so by who?
etc etc etc
Any member of the team on site could answer these basic questions.

In the early days around here some of us went on site to Ft. Marcy Park and the area around it to learn more about the Vince Foster murder.
I was kinda new at this and one of my mentors (who was also active here at the time) taught me a lot about how to investigate criminal acts that might be conspiracies.

What the magician does is he gets the audience to look at the shiny object or the beautiful woman assistant—to keep them from watching what he is doing.
