This is a thorough and thoughtful discussion on the assassination attempt on Trump. The discussion is between two ex-Military one of whom is a trained and field hardened sniper.
The video is an hour, but the key takeaways are:
1) The snaps that are heard when Trump is hit are the sonic booms from the bullets passing by the mic and not the gun shots
2) The delay in the snipers' shooting the assassin could be attributed to three things:
o The time it takes to acquire target through a sniper scope which has a very small field of view
o Not knowing if the sniper was a friend or foe, i.e. could have been a local officer placed on the roof
o Delay in communicating information provided by crowd to the snipers via multiple lines of communication
They are not certain, but believe the assassin got off shots before being killed more from incompetence than a conspiracy. They also believe the key failures were associated with not securing the roof or identifying the assassin as he walked to the building and ascended to the roof.
Also there’s the angle of all the people who called out the shooter to the police, who did nothing.

Still, it puts a lot more weight on the folks who screwed up by not putting someone on the roof ahead of time, and not identifying the assassin as he walked from his van across a very large field to a ladder in an alcove that only someone who had placed it there before would have known the location of.
The Secret Service Agent in charge who failed to use his own personnel or local law enforcement to secure those buildings, which were in the risk assessment identified as problematic, will have to answer under oath before Congress for his actions.

Putting Secret Service under DHS seems to have led to similar lapses in competence and judgment.

Evidently there was a ladder in an alcove. Either he or an accomplice put it there beforehand. If the ground crew had been thorough, they would have seen that ladder and removed it. Either that, or posted someone there to see who used it.

I'm not going to consider the snipers or near-in support people as being part of any conspiracy, but it's looking more and more like Mayorkas tried to get his revenge for his attempted impeachment.

Right. This kid was not local. How did he know there was a ladder there? Did he scope the site out in advance? Or did he have help? I don’t have a beef with the sniper, unless he saw the shooter before he fired and did nothing.
If Jill hired the mob, then this action was as successful as when JFK got the mafia to try and off Castro.
Even then, the ground crew should have removed it, used it to put someone on the roof, or watched it from a hiding spot to see who used it.
He's the most confident and authoritative expert I have heard yet. He would not be drawn out on whether it was conspiracy or mere incompetence that the shooter had easy access to the factory roof only 140 yards from Trump.
But that is one thing everyone agrees one - that the shooter was in the position he was, was a MAJOR breakdown in Secret Service protection.
And remember, post 9/11, when DHS was formed it was supposed to be an administrative entity, where representatives from all the 3-letter agencies would deconflict concurrent investigations. And develop a protocol to continue the investigations.
