I irritate the stuffing out of my wife about missed accidents and disasters. I usually put them in what I think is the proper perspective, the past but something to learn from. I have missed at least injury and maybe death a time or two and it didn't shake me so much but I am awfully grateful. I wonder how I would feel if Trump?
I was out front watering by the highway this evening. We have an irresponsible gun happy neighbor about 3/8 mile south. They were popping off random rounds. I heard one and what sounded like the whiz of a bullet. Very strange sound, distinctive, just like in a movie. I'd do something about the oaf but he would just do it again and shoot this way on purpose. Rednecks and libertarians and liberals all share some of the same insolent gene pool.
Talk about a lonely man! A southside republican? Keep your head down.
Dang time to set up a berm.
With the first pop noise, I knew it was gunfire. And when President Trump went down, I thought they got him, so did my mom.
It was so horrible! We were both yelling and crying -awful.
I have heard many times, people talk about JFK's assassination, and they will ask one another: "Do you remember where you were when President Kennedy was shot?". This happened before I was born, and I didn't really understand, or grasp the magnitude of what happened, until now.
As you, and others, have posted, I didn't sleep much at all, either, and have been feeling shocked, angry, and just emotionally rung out.
(I can't IMAGINE how President Trump and his family are feeling.)
In fact, I'm still having difficulty processing this.
That said-Thank the Lord Almighty, that Donald John Trump is still here with us!
God bless this heroic, one of a kind, man, and his brave, and devoted, family.
Everyone please keep them in your prayers.
It is more important now, than ever.

I’d recommend taking cover as many people have been killed by falling bullets (see archived articles at link below)

I remember the sound of a bullet from when I was a kid. My friends and I used to go canoeing in a canal and one day a bullet whizzed by. I don’t if we were being shot at or we just happened to be where someone was shooting. Either way, no one should have been shooting like that where we happened to live.
Yes, southside Chicago Republicans are rare!
