In the wake of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, there are widespread concerns and questions about how a sniper was able to obtain rooftop access roughly 150 meters from the former president’s position at the podium at an outdoor rally.
Sources have described the shooting as coming from the “three o’clock” position of Trump’s podium location, with shots coming from his right side. Seconds after gunfire rang out, Secret Service counter-assault snipers began shooting the suspect who was found on top of a roof.
Notably, the shooter’s location was outside the security perimeter, raising questions about both the size of the perimeter and efforts to sweep and secure the American Glass Research building, and how the shooter was able to obtain rooftop access.

As far as I can tell the Trump assassination attempt may be first time in history that a gun wielding assassin was located and knowingly monitored by multiple security teams for up to 10 minutes before executing his assassination attempt without any of the security people taking and proactive action or even just removing the target, the ex President of the United States in this case, off the stage to safety until the assassin was apprehended.
The blame game is starting.

Does the secret service routinely job out tasks of securing rooftops 130 yards away from the President and say oh well, too bad when they do not and shots are taken? I thought the secret service owned all the potential sniper positions and secured them all before hand? No? Is this a new policy?

The fact that they have a security perimeter of less than 150 yards in an outdoor event is just beyond insane.
If you asked me on Friday what a reasonable perimeter for an outdoor event for a president or presidential candidate was...I would have said a half mile...with any line of site structures of the president up to one mile, covered.
When you ask me today...yeah...less then 150 yards.
I just heard a local news reporter discuss the absence of high level cranes (viewing posts for the Secret Service)which are customarily on the perimeter of these Trump rallies.

I fear it might have been an FBI JFK solution for Trump. I hope I am wrong. The kid doesn’t seem to have the sniper experience for a classic head shot. He was the patsy (pike Oswald and he had to die. I hope I am wrong. But there may have been other shooters? Tell me Its all just BS. But...
SS should look at every roof top up to 1000 yards away with a clean shot. Let police know and have them covered. These rally’s need to be protected. The same as if it were the President speaking. This should be a wake up call. Was that easy for someone to have a chance from a little over a football field away. That’s crazy. We will see more video and pictures from his position later. I heard that current admin denied extra help. How can it be up to a current President to control the protection of a formal President currently running.

It is interesting to see the divergence in which MSM outlets are throwing shade on the SS: CNN and NBC. Fox and CBS not so much.
