Wait, the cop thought some guy with hair down past his shoulders (not even tied back for action) and not dressed like Secret Service, was Secret Service? Didn’t even ask? Look at the actual SS guys with the rifles. Dark blue uniforms, hats, identifying words on their backs. The number of very stupid people involved in security keeps growing.

I wouldn’t bet money that was the case, but it certainly is a possibility. The shooter was prone, and was perhaps a decent distance away from that cop. “Oh,” the incompetent cop says to himself, “That’s just another SS guy. Who else could he be?”
I suppose the whole truth will come out once an honest commission does a thorough and complete investigation. In other words, we’ll never know the whole truth.
