100% correct. I just had a fellow devil dog walk away from the LAPD as a Sargent with 25 years in to move to a different state and join the force elsewhere to ride through retirement. Why? Because they are hated by City officials and the public they defend. Sad
I’m no expert. But it seems to me that part of the problem is that many police forces are in a death spiral. Can’t get good help. And the bad help makes things worse.
I recently watched a YouTube video where a newsman was interviewing three NYPD cops, an older lieutenant and two young officers. The lieutenant sounded like he had his act together. But both of the young officers sounded like they were mentally challenged (I’m not exaggerating here).
And worse, the two young officers definitely had ego problems.
