Never Trump’s David Frum Blames Trump for His Own Attempted Assassination

David Frum, a prominent “Never Trump” pundit and former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, published an article on Sunday in the Atlantic blaming former President Donald Trump for his own attempted assassination.

Trump narrowly survived the attempt on his life when a bullet from a high-powered rifle grazed his ear during a rally in Pennsylvania. One man in the crowd, former fire chief Corey Comperatore, was killed; two others were injured (not including the assassin, who was immediately shot by the Secret Service).

When I see NeverTrumpers and Democrats blame Trump for someone trying to kill him, it makes me wonder if there’s even a SINGLE prominent person, of either party, who has both blamed Trump for being shot and also opposes US involvement in the Ukraine War.

I certainly cannot think of anyone.

He’s been disturbed about the “American Right” since Pat Buchanan was running for President in the 1990’s.

I actually read "Dead Right", and it has proven to be wrong, wrong, wrong. Frum concluded that the only way forward for the Republican Party was to go soft-left/libertarian on "Social Issues" and embrace unlimited free trade and fiscal restraint without giving up the welfare state. At the time he wrote the book, mass illegal migration was not a big issue. Somehow the American Right has not picked up on his script.
