Frankly, it would be unsurprising if the polls failed to move much. Reagan was almost universally liked, even when people differed with him on policy. Trump’s detractors seriously dislike him, and not always on policy differences. The only regret many Democrat voters have is that Crooks missed. Nobody gets too critical of an assassination attempt when they think the target is literally Hitler. So the odds are maybe of a 2 point bump in Trump’s polls.
Oh, the 45 percent will not move, but the rest is gone.
