(The original conspiracy theory had Bush flying commercial there, but the window of when his location was unknown when it supposedly happened shrank so much that the SR-71 was the only plane that could have made the trip. Rather than give up on the theory, the left agreed that it had to be the SR-71.)

I remember reading Time magazine on that and it proved to me as now, that liberals are “bat guano” crazy!
The Iranians had read all the ridiculous press about Reagan being “cowboy” and would be crazy enough to nuke Tehran into a glass parking lot!
They wanted good terms with the new administration so they let the hostages go just past the last minute of the Carter Administration!
Every cried “hurrah” when Reagan said”Our hostages are in the air!”
