I thought Mossad was one of the best intelligence agencies in the world and IDF had that border ironclad. It still doesn’t make sense. It’s also curious that Hamas wasn’t evaporated by the second week,hostages recovered and Gaza secured.

Two weeks? Gaza is basically the size of Okinawa, just a little bit smaller. It’s filled from one end to the other with development and buildings. It took us months to slog through Okinawa, and that wasn’t exclusively urban combat.
Also Israel with a very small nation, every casualty matters.
It’s hard fighting and they are moving with due deliberation.
Also, bear in mind, if they did an all out entire military attack on Gaza such that they could defeat it in two weeks, they have to consider what the West Bank or what Hezbollah in the north might do.

Me too. Secure borders isn’t exactly new science.

Can you imagine the North Koreans prancing down South and shooting the place up?
