With the Republican National Convention slated for next week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, all eyes are on who former President Donald Trump will select as a running mate.
Trump recently told reporters he had narrowed his vice presidential shortlist to a handful of possibilities. However, Trump's campaign has, on more than one occasion, cautioned that anyone "claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump.”

There is no such person.
Haley? She might add a couple wayward Republicans but zero Independents and Democrats.
If we're going down that direction, we should pick Tim Scott. Trump is polling 30% with the Black vote right now.
She’s better than RFK jr., but I don’t see her being a good VP. She basically has no supporters in the Democrat Party anymore.
><><
Why does it matter that she has no Democrat Party support if she became the VP?
She’d probably bring over some Dems.
Either Tim Scott will be VP and stand near Trump at the Inauguration or “Trump is a white racist” ads (ads already even on youtube before search item appears-—a black man with a deep voice stating this) will cause the traditional black and young people vote to go for the Biden replacement as the winner.
The alternative speculation is guessing if and when Biden drops out of reelection and if he also resigns.
Good points. I detect a real hate toward the Dems now.
Pence was a good choice in 2016. At the time, Trump was weak with the religious Conservatives.
Trump was a liberal New Yorker who spoke out in support of abortion in 1999.
Can't do that if you're trying to win the nomination of the Republican Party in 2016.
I agree.
She is great with independents and can really handle the press.
We can root for Flynn.
At some point last week, someone took him from some very high price down to 10/1 third choice. He is now back up to 30/1.
But it clearly looked like someone that thinks they know something.
I think Gabbard is the smart move. Currently we have Biden/Harris, maybe we get Harris and somebody. If Harris picks a woman as her VP, such as Whitmer, Trump won’t want to be two men against two women in the campaign. The optics and risks would be high. Thus, Trump will pick a woman. My bet is Gabbard, maybe Sanders who was always loyal to him and is now a governor.
WAS. And think about those folks that might be outgrowing Sanders and all of the anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian HAMAS BS tied to him and Democrats. She’s a natural, leading the way to Republicans.
After November many other democrats might be switching to independent too.
I’ve seen your posts about Gabbard on this thread and we’re thinking alike.
I think your point about two white guys against two women makes sense.
I’d prefer Gabbard over Sanders and Gabbard would be much more beneficial..
BKMRK.
That list has about as many names that I’m not impressed with, as names that I am.
Sarah has been on my list for months but I rarely see or hear her name mentioned.
