I have read the US constitution from cover to cover and can't find a single reference to the fed/gov being authorized to expend taxpayer funds to private companies other than to buy goods or services.

If its not an inherently governmental operation expending tax funds on it is illegal.

There is simply nothing out there that gives the fed/gov authority to do this or hundreds of other things they do every day.

If only we had a real opposition party.
