“Congress needs to hold hearings on media bias...”

No. The media is allowed to be biased; First Amendment and all. In the past; like very late 18th century, the media was openly totally biased; but they made no pretense of being even handed.’

No, if Trump is elected and Congress is in Republican hands, the effort should be made to undo as much of the damage that Obiden/bama have wrought as quickly as possible. The press will howl of course.

Right. And Congress is allowed to investigate an industry to try to determine why they systematically lied to the public and to determine if legislation can be proposed to make such dishonesty less likely. And I’m not talking about censorship laws. I’m talking about anti-trust legislation, legislation to more effectively regulate interactions between the government and media, etc.

Congress’s role is to determine if appropriate legislation can provide solutions to any of society’s myriad of problems. Hearings are regularly held to learn about problems to determine if they can be rectified, to some degree, by appropriate legislation. Media dis-information is a problem, any way you look at it. It has led to a large number of voters being mis-informed about Hunter Biden’s lap-top, Trump/Russia collusion, Biden’s cognitive fitness, The Jan. 6th non-insurrection insurrection, etc. And such deliberate dis-information and media suppression have had dire consequences.

The fact that we have a First Amendment doesn’t mean media dis-information isn’t a problem. It just means that any solution has to fall within the limits imposed by the First Amendment. And that’s fine, because the problem isn’t the First Amendment. The problem is the accumulation and consolidation of too much media power in the hands a small, powerful elite. The solution isn’t censorship. The solution is to address the media cartels and their imcestuous relationships with the Democratic Party and the Deep State.
