Part of what brought Vance to the dance may be his undoing. Donors are scared of him.

In his rise from Donald Trump critic to viable contender to be the presumptive Republican nominee’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio has come so far. But he may fall just short thanks to some risk-averse GOP donors.

If they are still considering voting for Biden now what the hell is going to convince them otherwise. Who cares about mean tweets when the current guy is tearing apart the country. The best thing to happen to this country would be for the mainstream media to disappear.

If you’re going to do the “Same-State-Find-a-Constitutional-Solution-Dance” over Rubio it makes more sense to do that with DeSantis.

I hope you didn't misunderstand me.   I'm against Rubio in any State he might move to become eligible, because I don't like the slippery snake, I don't trust him, and I already know he would never be eligible because he is an anchor baby.

About DeSantis he would have to write a magnificent mea culpa to apologize for running against President with all the slander and invective.

Then add to that, he needs to get a personality.   He comes across as an Ivy League pompous sock cucker.

JFK was in his second term as Senator in 1960, having previously been a Congressman. His father was well known and had had ambitions of being the nominee in 1940 if FDR had not run for a third term. JFK made an unsuccessful attempt to be the VP nominee in 1956 when Adlai Stevenson let the convention decide.

1960 was the first election when the leading candidates were WWII veterans (of course Ike had an important role in WWII but he was of the WWI generation, born in 1890). Nixon and LBJ were also WWII veterans.

Tim Scott sounds good on TV but comes across as a lightweight. Not a good choice for VP.

Oy Vey! We surely are the stupid party doing the circular firing squad all the time. Let’s die on another hill.🙄 It doesn’t really matter who the V.P. pick is. Someone is not going to like it.

You don't believe in our Constitution?   That is not a hill.   You are for it or against it.

I don’t know enough about him. Not my state not my problem.
Too Young, as far as I am concerned a media hype candidate and nothing more.

Regarding DeSantis and any “mea culpa” stranger things have happened in the history of politics. Unfortunately, in today’s politics is all a “big show”. One shouldn’t take it personally or get so wrapped in a candidate that one takes it personal for him. I think Trump knows this!

“Just say NO to Burgum. Totally the wrong vibe for this day and age.”

Purely subjective, but the few times I’ve seen/heard him, he immediately grated on every nerve I’ve got. Looks, vocal style/delivery, etc...as you said, totally the wrong vibe. Comes across as a smarmy tool.

The majority of Zodiac killings were before 1970. Yet there are still people including freepers who say that he's the Zodiac killer.

Lawrence Welk was born 53 years before Doug Burgum. How believable is it that they went to kindergarten together?

I might even be able to talk my wife into voting if Sarah Huckabee Sanders were on the ticket.

Vance Was in the establishment for years before he became a senator. He made his bones by kissing up the Hollywood types and other lefties.

Yes, all true but still a mediocre senator from Massachusetts! Senator from January 3, 1953 – December 22, 1960 I didn’t check the election dates but if he was in his 2nd term, he was days into his second term. Again, very Zero like in senatorial performance & presidential ambition!

I sincerely hate being lashed to morons like you as part of the conservative bloc of voters. You care more about cutting your nose off to spite your face than about winning an election or saving the country. It’s pathetic to be stuck with a segment whose collective iq doesn’t rise above room temperature. If we lose because of dumbasses like all, do not come around afterwards questioning how we lost an election! Grow up & at least attempt to use the lump on top of your neck...you know, the one 3 feet above your ass! 🙄

I am going to follow up on your “scuttlebutt”. I have been too trusting in outward appearances over the years, and now am having a hard time trusting anyone, or institution, or profession.

We are certainly living in interesting times.

If DeSantis is the VP, the Republicans would start impeachment hearings on day 1.
*************************************************
That’s massive unadulterated BS. It may be true for Rubio or Burgum though.

The day a Trump/DeSantis ticket wins is the day the teacher’s union bosses start throwing themselves from buildings, illegals start self deporting and DOJ officials try to get into witness protection programs.

Youngkin would be a good pick IMO. He may bring more to the ticket than any of the “top three”. He is term limited anyway and Winsome Sears, the awesome Lieutenant Governor, could step in for the remainder of the term. But, would she stll be eligible for a full term after serving a partial term?

Trump/DeSantis is our best ticket, but the Florida Governor doesn’t sound like he wants the VP position.

Also, Trump would have to change his residency back to New York or New Jersey which is democrat territory and doesn’t offer the political protection that Florida offers.

Personally, I think Trump should buy a property in DC, make it his residency, and say “We just wanted a shorter move after November.”😀
