CHICAGO — In recent years, Chicago’s leaders have blamed a wide range of external factors for the city’s infamous street violence. They’ve pointed fingers at Donald Trump, Indiana, Kim Foxx, and gun manufacturers, among others.
On Monday, after 108 people were shot, 19 fatally, during the Independence Day weekend, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson became the first leader to blame Richard Milhous Nixon.
“We are standing here today talking about a violent weekend because of generations of disinvestment,” Johnson told a room full of reporters.
“Black death has been unfortunately accepted in this country for a very long time,” Johnson claimed. “We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes and people mocked President [Lyndon] Johnson and we ended up with Richard Nixon.”

Places like Chicago and Atlanta still have more opportunities than most places in the USA.
Who “disinvested” in Chicago? There have been any number of persons not beholden to Richard Nixon in any way, shape, form or manner, and had distinct ties WITH Chicago, who could have more than made up for the shortcomings that went on for only a very few years long ago. And yet, and yet, for many years since these investors, if they may be called that, have failed to make any significant impact on the swirling cesspool that was and is the local political maelstrom that has been almost exclusively Democrat since before the time of Nixon.
Democrat Socialists are just NFG, no matter where they gain power. They have never, in all the history of their existence, ever promoted a greater good for the greater number.
Blacks flocked to unions.
They got higher wages for decades.
When the factories became outdated, the employers set up shop elsewhere.

Johnson didn’t run against Nixon, woogums. Unless you are referencing 1960 when Chicago was a peaceful town, before Cabrini Green and Good Times.
I have a neighbor. He came from what my neighbors say is Poland and lived and worked in the Chicago area. For about four years he has worked on building a huge mansion complex on the double lots he bought on my Florida street.
My neighbor in the back is Polish. He is an electrician with his own company in the Hartford, CT area.
For those youngsters amongst us. Nixon never ran against Johnson! That choice never existed.
