Seriously. Here in northern CA, there’s nothing wrong with our available Walmarts, and a local discount chain, Winco, is often dramatically less than chains life Safeway. If you’re so stupid you do your basic grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s, you get what you deserve

Seriously. Here in northern CA, there’s nothing wrong with our available Walmarts, and a local discount chain, Winco, is often dramatically less than chains life Safeway.

WinCo isn't exactly a "local" chain in NoCal- it's in 10 states and is headquartered in Boise, ID.

I used to live in Idaho, but am in Alaska now and given the price of groceries up here let me tell you:

Man, do I miss WinCo!
(and Costco, for that matter)

Heck, WinCo had better produce for less than Albertson's or Fred Meyer or Costco...

6 kids—assuming a wife & himself-—8 persons.

I can buy a pork shoulder roast-—put it in crockpot at 8 Am & have a wonderful dinner ready in evening....slow & low.
A package of IDAHOAN dry mashed potatoes —family size—for 8 costs about $2.88——ADD 4 cups of hot water-—stir—ready in under 2 minutes.
