Pence was never on my radar screen as anyone who should have been veep. He struck me as colorless with a personality deficit. A conservative because that fit his personality not because he thought it was best governing principle. As I remember the “great conservative minds of 2016” thought him a great choice to balance the “colorful” Trump and cement the Trump relationship with the evangelical community. In short, a superficial fit for VP, but that’s all politics usually is - superficialities!
