As anyone who has ever been in business can tell you, management by committee does not work. Ergo, yes, we need a president.
Amen to that.
Someone has to make that final decision. And by the time it gets to the President…all of the good options have been exhausted. It is a constant effort to make the least worst choice.
Also, the leader sets the vision or tone. Their subordinates should be able to make decisions based on the over-arching theme of the government. But that has to come from the top person.
Best example of that is The Death of Stalin. The politburo couldn’t even act on calling a doctor for days.
With a team approach to the presidency, impeachments would impeach all of the team!
