Vatican excommunicates ex-ambassador to U.S., Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, declares him guilty of schism

A firebrand conservative who became one of Pope Francis' most ardent critics has been excommunicated by the Vatican.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, who once served as the Vatican's ambassador to the U.S., was found guilty of schism. The Vatican's doctrine office imposed the penalty after a meeting of its members on Thursday, a press statement said Friday.

The office cited Viganò's "refusal to recognize and submit to the Supreme Pontiff, his rejection of communion with the members of the church subject to him and of the legitimacy and magisterial authority of the Second Vatican Council," as its reasoning for the ruling.

Viganò, who regarded the accusations "as an honor," said he refused to take part in the disciplinary proceedings because he did not accept the legitimacy of the institutions behind it.

"I do not recognize the authority of the tribunal that claims to judge me, nor of its Prefect, nor of the one who appointed him," he said in a statement issued last week, referring to the head of the doctrinal office, Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, and to Francis.

"The road to hell is paved with the bones of priests and monks, and the skulls of bishops are the lampposts that light the path."--attributed (not verified) to St. John Chrysostom

In a broader light, the Borgias were pretty bad.....

I’d attend any Mass he celebrates, and I hope he does often.

This is certainly a sign of these times.

The good shall be made to look bad and the bad will be made to look good.

The Vatican causes the schism by telling Christians in the RCC that they have to get further from God's will to please the Vatican.

"Your Imperial Majesty and Your Lordships demand a simple answer. Here it is, plain and unvarnished. Unless I am convicted [convinced] of error by the testimony of Scripture or (since I put no trust in the unsupported authority of Pope or councils, since it is plain that they have often erred and often contradicted themselves) by manifest reasoning, I stand convicted [convinced] by the Scriptures to which I have appealed, and my conscience is taken captive by God's word, I cannot and will not recant anything, for to act against our conscience is neither safe for us, nor open to us.

On this I take my stand. I can do no other. God help me."

“Schism”... Yet Catholic politicians who are ok with killing babies are good with the Church.

The first and greatest fall for the rcc was around 400 AD when they excommunicated from their presence the Written Word of God.

The rcc has been on a fast downward decline ever since!

I cannot, in good conscience, consider myself a Catholic anymore.

A Christian, yes. Catholic,………..

Can I become a Catholic long enough to get excommunicated for not bowing to Bergolio?

The child sex groomers don’t like it when someone objects to their abuse.
It’s the same in our schools.

Those just like yourself prove my comments to be accurate everyday. Because in order for those such as yourself, in order to defend your heresy, you attack not us, but the very Word of God. Because those “traditions” you defend are in opposition to the Word of God!

And that’s a FACT!!!

And with that, HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

To be declared a schismatic by Francis is surely a sign one holds fast to the faith.

“I cannot, in good conscience, consider myself a Catholic anymore.”

Why not? Why does having a rogue, demon-driven head of the Church mean you can’t still hold to the faith, beliefs and practices of Catholicism?

Does having Biden or Obama as president mean you aren’t American anymore?

Pope Francis is a heretic. He calls for the blessing of sin allowing homosexual unions. He promotes heretic clergy that do not follow Church doctrine and Gospel truth with their gay homosexual agendas. Francis says there is no hell. Francis allows pagan rituals in the Church and says there are many paths to God, when the only path is through Jesus Christ. Francis is a heretic more concerned about so-called global warming and worldly politics than about saving souls and spreading the Gospel. Francis synodal way has allowed the German Church to nearly be completely in schism with the faith with the push for homosexual unions, female priests and Deacons, and other heresies. The synodal way is the sinful disruption and scandalization of the Church and has brought nothing but confusion and disruption. Francis has done more damage to the unity of the Church and is more of an antipope. Francis has been a disaster from the start.

One can still remain as an American even post biden and Obama. All that it entails is not being a Democrat.

JUST AS....

Abandoning the rcc simply means choosing to adhere to Christianity rather than the rcc.
