The Nobel Prize lost its meaning when they awarded Obama for doing nothing.

Economists are out of their depth in thinking about the complex interaction of politics and economics. As a result, they tend to fall back on a simple rule of thumb: trust the government when it is run by center-left technocrats like themselves. Bullsh$$. Economics started its life as the study of "political economy" and branched off as economic models gained in complexity. Most Ph.D. economists know this history and understand the interaction.
What screws up macro economic policy is that it is implemented by people who have, at best, a high school appreciation and understanding of economics. A huge part of the problem is that US economic policy needs to be oriented to the long run solutions and, to politicians, the long run is defined by their term in office.

Having taken Econ 101 back in 1968, I know more about economics than 16 Nobel laureates.

Stiglitz has called Trump a con man and a fascist among other epithets. But he would never call Biden by those epithets, would he?

“Trump’s “fiscally irresponsible” budget plans and the “vagaries of his actions and policies” in relations with other countries.“
Trump was president for four years, it’s not like he’s an unknown unproven quantity.
