President Biden may soon face increased pressure from Democrats in Congress to drop out of the 2024 race, according to a report.
At least 25 House Democrats are preparing to call for the 81-year-president to end his re-election bid in the wake of his disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a House Democratic aide.
Centrist House Democrats in competitive districts – the lawmakers most at risk of losing their seats in November – were so alarmed by Biden’s infirmed appearance in last week’s showdown with the 78-year-old presumptive Republican nominee that they are considering writing a letter to Biden, according to the outlet.
Those lawmakers have been peppered with questions about Biden by constituents since returning to their districts for the House’s Fourth of July week recess.
“It looks like the dam has broken,” a second House Democratic aide told the outlet.

They should be. Because the democrats are painted into a corner. If Biden resigns, KH is president. So what do they do, pick a white guy and leave her sitting on the curb? Way to piss off AA and female voters.

No one they have can step in with 120 days and win.. that would take a superstar. Not just a superstar but a superstars superstar and if the Dems had someone like that they would have run them rather than Biden in the first place.
If they replace Biden they are conceding the WH and are playing to protect the down ballot.
Dems are in a crap position and have been for quite some time. Folks who excite and motivate their base are absolutely unelectable… folks that can compete for independents don’t move their base.
That’s why we got Biden in the first place. Dems knew if they nominated someone the base really wanted they’d lose so they compromised on Biden. Joe Biden isn’t motivating their base and lost the middle.. so what can they do?!?
No one on their bench can drop in last second and win the middle.. however they can drop in someone who can motivate their base more than Biden. So, if they replace Biden it’s purely a play to motivate the base to try to stop the down ballot disaster.
Russia, China and Iran may take advantage that we do not have a President in the White House.

(a booby prize for her). 3. new corruption data is “found” linking Harris to cash pay outs. 4. Harris does a Nixon and resigns (with a pardon and a big paycheck) 5. Hillary Clinton becomes president and beats Donald Trump in a tight (fixed) election. All this in three months.

This is the point. All the Democrats care about is staying in power. They should care about the good of the country and that means that Joe Biden should be removed courtesy of the 25th Amendment.
As much as I delight in the RAT disarray, I am old enough to also remember the 2002 NJ Senate race. Where the incumbent, Robert Torricelli dropped out at the end of September and the Dems were allowed that that late date to replace him on the ballot with Lautenberg, a retired Dem Senator.
Lautenberg beat the Republican and went back into the Senate where he gave us the “Lautenberg Amendment”, the only way a person can lose gun rights over a misdemeanor.
