Newsweek ^ | 7/1/24 | David Brennen

Posted on 07/02/2024 4:24:00 PM PDT by hardspunned

Closer cooperation between Russia and the Houthis in Yemen could exacerbate the strategic dilemma facing Western powers as they seek to protect commercial shipping in the Red Sea and beyond.

There are indications that Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering supplying the Iran-aligned Yemeni Houthi movement with anti-ship ballistic cruise missiles, Middle East Eye (MEE)—citing an unnamed senior U.S. official—reported on Saturday.

Jefferson and Washington were right. Stay out of the Eastern Hemisphere.

Sure, why not? If he does, we give ATACMS to Dagestan.

This smells of bull crap. Houthis get weapons from Iran. Putin has a cold alliance with Iran, but he has his hands full with Ukraine.

This sounds like Biden disinformation in order to foment World War III.

In the current game of brinkmanship the Biden administration is not equipped to handle it.
But enough morons cheer for more blood and death because for whatever reason they want a war.
But they themselves won’t go, they want to send everyone else.

If it's true, it's no different that what we're doing with arming Ukraine.

My friends we armed the Saudis. Guess who they attacked with the weapons? The libertarians here(of which I am one) declared it’s no wonder we’re so hated as the weapons are being used to kill innocents.

One problem: The more you know about the Houthis the more you think we’re doing the right thing.

“Why on earth wouldn’t Putin want to go this route?”

Can’t think of a SINGLE REASON.

(by the way, are you planning to go to the BEACH on the 4th?)

You ask, “Why on earth wouldn’t Putin want to go this route?” Because he knows the reply would be attacks on Moscow. And that would likely be the last stage before WWIII.

I called this months ago.

Said the obvious way to indirectly hurt us is to attack the super takers, sure we can make our own fuels but prices are all interconnected. If they were to cut oil from the Mideast say hello to 5-10 dollar gas.

I admit I never saw the Houthi angle, that makes it even harder to put direct blame on Putin.

I predicted this might happen over a week ago. If our country can arm enemies of Russia like the Ukraine then Russia arming enemies of the United States is to be expected. Turnabout is fair play.

If we had a government, we would have taken the Houthis out by now. I guess shooting at our ships and international shipping isn’t a casus belli.

If it's true, it's no different that what we're doing with arming Ukraine.

If you do not see the difference between arming the Ukrainians to help them defend themselves from a Russian invasion and arming the Houthis to attack international trade that is no threat to the Houthis, we have a big problem.

The U.S. is already killing Russian civilians in Russia. Yes, if that doesn’t stop soon it will cause WWIII. The fact that we are killing Russian civilians in their beds in Russia is exactly why, Putin’s words, they are considering arming the Houthis. Again, why on earth wouldn’t he react like this. Goose, meet Mr. Gander.

This is a response to the US supplying and aiming the ATACM missiles armed with cluster munitions that Ukraine used in the beachgoer attack in Sevastopol. The attack killed 5 civilians and wounded over 100.
