California electors can't vote for both Harris and Newsom, unless one changes state of residency, and Newsom can't do that while governor--but what is to stop Harris from saying she is a resident of DC?
But she would probably prefer someone else--Buttigieg to please the gay activists, or Shapiro to reassure Jewish Democrats (but at the risk of offending Muslims), or maybe Cooper in hopes of carrying North Carolina.

If Biden resigns, it will be after he pardons Hunter and the other family members who are in any legal jeopardy.
