Antisemitism used to be on the political Right. I know, I experienced it. That has changed. Too many of my fellow Jews haven’t figured that out, which is why they are so shocked when they find that their liberal friends hate them and Israel.
Even more confusing (and more insane) is the apparent fact that until recently even the domestic American hard Left presented itself as pro-Israel. Again, wha??? They supported every dictator who supported the PLO but pretended that Castro and co. were pro-Israel? I'm sure that would have surprised Qaddafi, or Castro himself, who was already hosting and training Arafat in 1966.
I'm nowhere near as naive as I used to be. I know how stubborn the so-called "official Jewish leadership" is. I know how much they hate conservatives and Republicans. They always donate to "pro-Israel" Democrats in the primaries because they won't vote Republican in a general election no matter what. I also receive e-mails from one of the "official" Jewish organizations that is still blabbing about fascism and authoritarianism and begging AOC and the squad to like them and see Israel as the Cuba of the Middle East (it would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic).
It's heartbreaking, but G-d's plans go right on being fulfilled. Nothing and no one can stop them.
May it be His Will that we live to see Israel truly restored, Jerusalem rebuilt, the exiles ingathered, and the Holy Temple again standing in the Holy City. 'Amen, ken yehi ratzon!
