Manhattan prosecutors on Tuesday agreed with Donald J. Trump’s request to postpone his criminal sentencing so that the judge overseeing the case could weigh whether a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling might imperil his conviction, new court filings show.
It is up to the judge to determine whether to postpone the sentencing, though with both sides in agreement, a delay seemed likely. The judge, Juan M. Merchan, could rule as soon as Tuesday.

My first instinct...
Something new and inflammatory may be wrong with the case.
My second instinct...
Just a standard Hard Left political decision.
(Something new and inflammatory may be wrong with the case.)
Yes, like the cousin of one of one of the jurors who posted that Trump would be found guilty before the verdict was read. Notice the media went silent when that news was revealed?
Yes, I would think so. Looking for the filed documents now from both President Trump and the DA.
Merchan is far left, but if he thinks a delay would help Karl Marx, he will grumble, curse, and do it.
If ANY of the evidence used in the trial came is connected to Trumps official acts as President, it most certainly falls under the immunity ruling. ALL of the evidence in the trial came from the time when Trump was in the White House.
It may be a hail mary, but it was aalso a point of contention in the trial itself.
When oh when will people figure out who’s really running the show? 🙄
Absolutely. They are looking at the scenario of Trump as convicted felon with suspended sentence vs Trump going to jail. No doubt polling, focus groups, punditry consultations, etc. Live by the political prosecution, die by the same.
This is buying more time for the democrats and Merchan to write a new sentence since the last one was sitting in a desk for seven years. They have to come up with something that sounds legal and that the higher courts won’t allow an appeal.
The question for Merchan has morphed into whether he pointlessly wants to increase his own Gitmo sentence.
Translation: They are scared to death and have no idea how to proceed with the sentencing.
merchan is out on that limb all by himself
oh boy! this is going to be fun!
You know Mr Whiplash was FJB’s character in the 3rd grade play back in 1862?

Was Pinocchio Joe wearing black-face last night? Somebody had to ask, because, Democrats.
If "people" knew, would they care?
Do his best to guarantee that Trump will be the next president? That seems to be the path he’s on.
I hope Trumps Attorney General takes off the gloves to this crowd. Some jail time would be delicious. Find out how much collusion took place between the WH and New York.
And they should know, and used to know, is when they are out of power the payback will come one way or another.
That would make my day. Remember why the say “deep state” and note they are trying to prepare for firings, etc., already.
For me payback is justice delivered fairly.
These people had no compunction ruining the life of Donald Trump, taking a father/grandfather away, taking a husband from his wife, destroying the lives and livelihoods of his friends and allies, lying to the American people, ripping the Constitution to shreds just to retain their power. And I include people like Liz Cheney in this. Justice is needed not revenge. Vengeance belongs to God.
That and remember when the sham verdict came in? A quarter of a billion raised in just a few days — as memory serves 72 hours. Any incarceration any punishment now will triple the tsunami headed for them in Nov. And they deserve every bit of it.
Reading the letter from President Trump's attorneys, it does indeed look interesting that evidence entered since 2016 when he became President may be problematic. Will be interesting to see the response from DANY.
