“John Dean says Nixon ‘would have survived’ Watergate under immunity ruling,”

<> No he would have likely been impeached and removed from office.

Exactly. Dean is lying through his teeth. Congress can (and did and will in the future) use whatever evidence it wants. The Supreme Court's ruling relates only to the judiciary.

What’s WRONG with this guy anyhow? If not for him trying to cover up info on his hooker girlfriend, there probably wouldn’t be a Watergate scandal. You’d think he’d be so embarrassed that he’d just STFU and go into hiding. But noooo...

Nixon did not authorize, nor did he have prior knowledge of, the Watergate break-in. Contrary to popular belief, Nixon was most likely the target of a deep state coup. Woodward was most likely CIA asset.

I highly suggest you question everything you’ve been taught by the media and our educational system about Watergate.

Nixon should have survived it. Watergate was nothing next to what Obama did with his 'Operation Fast and Furious' crimes, which resulted in 2 dead Border Patrol agents at at least 400 Mexican children killed by the guns he illegally sent to Mexico.

The book Silent Coup credited him as the mastermind behind the break-in, allegedly making the burglars search for a list of book of party girls with Mo’s name in it. Any comment he makes about Nixon is rich and total hypocrisy.

These Watergate guys remind me of those people at a reunion that peaked in high school, usually in sports. That’s the highlight of their life and everything since is compared to it. My 45th reunion is this year and there are still guys talking about that big game in the 1978 or 1979 that was the highlight of their life. It wasn’t getting married, having children or grand children. It was the last basket, last touchdown or the last run they have as their peak. It’s very sad.

Ford pardoned Nixon over Watergate.

“As a result of certain acts or omissions occurring before his resignation from the Office of President, Richard Nixon has become liable to possible indictment and trial for offenses against the United States.”

“I, GERALD R. FORD, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9,1974.”

He resigned when told by Republicans that he would be impeached (which at the time had only happened once) and possibly convicted by the Senate. I don’t think he was worried about criminal charges. Although Ford, knowing the dem’s hatred of Nixon, pardoned him

The immunity is not new. It’s always been there. Nothing was “created” by the Supreme Court.

“when the President does it, that means that it is not illegal, by definition.”

“Well, what I, at root I had in mind I think was perhaps much better stated by Lincoln during the War between the States. Lincoln said, and I think I can remember the quote almost exactly, he said, “’Actions which otherwise would be unconstitutional, could become lawful if undertaken for the purpose of preserving the Constitution and the Nation.’”
