Let’s say that, for whatever reason(s), President Trump and his Administration do not charge the State and Federal officials who used lawfare and other devices to attack President Trump, his staff, and his lawyers. What is to stop any and all individuals harmed by these illegal acts from bringing a Civil Suit against each person? While OJ Simpson was acquitted in the criminal court, a civil court found him guilty, and the award was $33 million. Imagine going after Garland, Weisman, etc. Not just their accumulated wealth, but their pensions as well.

You are correct in concept, but the field of civil rights law is complex and with few conservative lawyers on the plaintiff side. In addition, immunity for public officials can protect even clear malefactors like Garland, Jack Smith, and others.

That ought not deter us though. Congressional and executive investigations can create a public record of the facts needed to establish civil liability in spite of immunity claims. Moreover, there are bright, eager conservative lawyers who understand or can learn the plaintiff side of civil rights claims. The key will be to find the deep pockets and law form support to make such work possible.
