That’s a lovely way to view everything. It reminds me of a story from The Book of Virtues that I used to read to the kids.

In short, a long time ago, a great prince had a beautiful pet falcon. He travelled with it throughout the countryside. One day the prince stopped to rest at a lovely stream being fed by a beautiful waterfall. As the prince cupped some of the fresh crisp water to drink, the falcon, his treasured companion, swooped down and attacked his hands. This went on a few times and the prince concluded that his falcon had turned on him. He was so thirsty, that he proceeded to climb the adjoining hill to get a shot at the bird with his bow and arrow. He got to the top of the waterfall and immediately the bird flew near, and his first shot killed the bird. The prince then turned to drink from the upper pool, only to discover the remains of an animal in the water. This animal emitted a poison, and if the prince drank the water, he would have died on the spot. His dear falcon knew this and was saving him. Sadly, the prince found out too late.

That was from memory - lol it was much more eloquently written.

poor falcon, I suppose the next one would be treated better. It would serve the prince right too listen to that one but have it be false. (I’m always on the side of the animal.)

I’ve just been stuck in stagnation, not getting anything done with respect to these rescues. I spent the morning looking up houses in Italy that I could buy. I was actually just going to look in Kingsport but that seemed kind of boring in comparison.

So I decided to do some work on the transport, see where the Bus shows up near the Northeast rescues. At least kind of get started on a plan. Then I realized the mama cat gets fixed for free if the litter gets fixed. Had to send an email off to see if that’s still counts if it’s a litter of one. Then I can decide where mama will have her enucleation and I can make that appointment.

I hate it when I know I have to get stuff done but I’m too lazy to do it. I don’t enjoy my lounging around near as much. LOL

Did you ever have your chocolate fudge truffle caramel ice cream? If I was anywhere near I would come and help you. As a friend of course. Just to keep you healthy.

“My hero is Mom. When I got my own police station she knitted me a teddy bear. I was hoping for a coffee mug.

I said “Mum I’m too old for a teddy bear.”

She said ‘Firstly, you’re not. No one is. Secondly, it’s not for you. It’s a trauma bear, for any kid you think needs it.’

Three months later I’m asking a little boy to do a big job. There was a scared bear in my police truck that needed looking after. And, while his world dissolved in sirens and lights that boy kept that bear safe and took him home.

Mum has made hundreds of things since. Trauma bears for victims of crime, quilts to warm rehabilitating drug addicts during the chill of withdrawal, booties and mittens for premature babies. There’s something in the stitching, a kind of grandma magic I suppose.

The photo is me dropping off some more bears and quilts. Mum’s my hero and, since she’s not on Facebook, if you message me I’ll pass it on.”
