They put a clearly diminished Biden on the public stage to debate a superior opponent.
The burning question now is what drove this self-delusion and betrayal of the public.

<><>that they could run the country like some sort of collective-ventriloquist?
<><>was it narcissism by family Biden who long craved this kind of power?
<><>a family that would fight anything — even reality — that threatened to take its power away?

In March of 2023, I wrote a column for The Wall Street Journal arguing that Biden had no
business running for a second term because, among other reasons, of his mental capacity.

As far back as September 2021, Biden didn’t seem to have a clue that his senior military advisors opposed his total withdrawal from Afghanistan (they supported a smaller contingent to stabilize the civilian government and prevent the return of Al Qaeda there).

The diminished Biden’s disastrous Afghan withdrawal is now the stuff of legends.
