Rs can work on securing the voting system, campaigning not only for Pres but getting majorities in both houses of Congress. They should also work on choosing better people to be the R “Leaders” (Turtle and Johnson are highly compromised, defective and feckless).
The template for becoming a senior public official is clear:
—Get caught in some sort of sting/honeytrap. The Deep State casts a wide net and sees who they catch. First term Congress-critters are ideal targets as well as statewide office holders in individual states.
—Then the individual is told they are subject to blackmail if they do not obey. However if they do obey their career will be enhanced and they will live long and prosper.
—One or several “proofs of fealty” are required. They are illegal acts that are documented that just add to the blackmail file. That “raises the ante”.
—Then the Deep State works to advance the career of their “property” and defends them from challenges and difficulties.
Imho this approach has been responsible for the rapid rise of folks like Clinton and Obama from obscurity—as just two examples.

I would say if the Supremes rule in Trump’s favor tomorrow, the likelihood of Merchan successfully jailing Trump goes down.

Actually, I think in several cases Trump actually looked concerned for Biden, not angry. I also think many people saw this and even mentioned it, and that was in Trump’s favor.

I am fairly confident that Trump would obtain an immediate stay of execution of sentence no matter what the sentence is. Then on appeal Trump will have this verdict overturned and probably dismissed with prejudice for many glaring reasons. Prof Jonathan Turley has summarized them best, but I have seen other reasons this case should never been filed and the Judge committed endless errors just to stick it to the Orange Man.

The Supremes did kick much oversight to bureaucratic courts rather than bureaucratic Executive agencies.
