This is a long article worth reading. I have only posted a few excerpts.

No one wants to be bothered with reading anything anymore on FR.

We have all new superstars here who excel in posting copies of two-line notices off internet blogs, which are then treated as genuine bona fide news articles by the same old flock of lemmings.

This place has become the grounds for an adolescent pissing contest for who can get the most hits on the most postings in the least time.

I try to post a news article that has actual attribution and an author and details and the who what when and why and where and then my post gets buried after accumulating three whole comments.

Twenty minutes later I see the same issue posted as a two-line notice from some blog and it's getting 200 hits. And being ignored by the Admins as a "repeat posting" which it is, and should be deleted because no search was done. Then half of the comments are asking, "Where the hell are the details?" And can't discuss the issue because the damned post is just a blurb.

The Admins seem to be entirely onboard with this situation. I think copying and pasting thirty words from some blog in record time and then having the gall to call it "Breaking News" in the header ought to be grounds for termination.

This is not dissemination of information. It's just date-and-time-stamping your presence on Free Republic. Two lines of second-hand text does NOT constitute a news article.

This is becoming a complete joke. (Your article excepted.)
