North Carolina is not as much of a lock as some think. Trump won the state narrowly in both 2016 and 2020. Because of there being a number of mid sized cities rather than one big one as in Arizona and Georgia, voter fraud is more difficult in the Tar Heel State.
“North Carolina is not as much of a lock as some think.”
Very true. It is a nominally Republican state based on how it votes, but a very small swing to the left would change all that.
People who erroneously think NC is SOLIDLY “red” and not even a swing state would get quite a shock if that happens. Of course we all know that any adverse outcome anywhere these days is totally due to fraud, but that still raises the question of how the supposedly “solid” state BECAME so close as to allow fraud to tip the scales. For most people, that’s a question which is far more easily ignored than answered.
Don’t forget that the NC Secretary of State (state officer in charge of elections and vote counting) is a Democrat. Elaine Marshall may not be AS corrupt as corresponding officeholders in places like Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania and pretty much every other swing state, but she’s no prize pig either.
And just like the most populous swing state (PA), voter registration figures still favor Democrats. We’re told all the time that the gap is narrowing — which it is — but for the moment the GOP is still in 3rd place behind “Independents” and Democrats. In any close election, which NC has lots of, things like that can obviously make a large difference.
NC is normally competitive but it's out of play this time.
I am worried about the Tarheel State.
President Trump made it to Charlotte for a Wilmington rally back on April 20th, only to deliver a Rain Check when severe storms rolled in and forced him to turn back.
Over two months later, he hasn’t rescheduled for Wilmington or any other stop in NC.
Moreover, while I like Gubernatorial Candidate & Current Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, I think he may be TOO Conservative which will hurt both Pres. Trump’s NC chances as well as odds to regain power in Raleight.
