I can tell you what happened. Tractor Supply hired a consultant and the board sat through a slick Power Point presentation telling them how much DEI would improve their image. Quite likely this was done at a weeklong golf outing at a nice resort. Also, the board are probably college educated business types who have been fed a similar line all through school, so it sounded “right.” These outings are not going to have any counterpoint presentations. Though, they must be living under a rock if they hadn’t taken a lesson from Bud Lite.
