At this point there is no risk to Biden age question by releasing the Hur tape, but there is big risk to Garland if the tape proves that the White House transcripts were falsified to cover for Biden.
That might also explain why Hur suddenly resigned the day of testifying before Congress in case he knew the transcripts were not a true rendition of the interview.
