Report: Trump Poised to Throw Enormous ‘Curveball’ Just Before Debate
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com ^ | 6/26/2024 | Joe Saunders, The Western Journal

This could really shake things up in Atlanta.

As the clock ticks closer to Thursday’s presidential debate pitting former President Donald Trump against President Joe Biden, a report is circulating that Trump could be springing a big surprise on his Democratic opponent.

And upending the presidential campaign in the process.

NBC News reported Tuesday, citing sources identified only as “people familiar with the situation,” Trump could be revealing his running mate before he and Biden even take the stage at CNN headquarters.

Trump has previously said he would reveal the name of the individual he’s chosen before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, which begins July 15.

But that timetable might have changed considerably, and Trump is now considering a “curveball” that could knock Biden off his already-unsteady feet.

“People familiar with discussions about a pre-debate announcement had differing views about Trump’s leanings,” NBC reported.

“One said he is eager to fill his ticket before he squares off with Biden. Another source said he would like the opportunity to throw a curveball to distract Biden before they meet but understands that such a move could create logistical and political complications.”

Any news report is only as credible as its sourcing, and anonymously sourced reports should always be treated with a grain of salt.

But there’s no denying a Trump announcement on a running mate would be a headline-grabbing move that would suck up the oxygen surrounding the Atlanta faceoff.

It would be a national story. It would put Trump on top of the news cycle. And it would almost certainly set his opponent back a step.

In short, it would be exactly the kind of move Trump has been making since he came down the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015 to announce his bid for the presidency.

No, Trump would look like a coward. He should have never agreed to a CNN debate though.

My guess is that it means fortune favors the audacious.

I don’t know Latin.

Maybe Trump will request that his pronouns are now they/them. Biden’s brain will go haywire as he tries to adapt, and his debate prep will get tangled up in knots!

Who cares if announces his VEEP before the debate. What does that do?

I would hope that Trump is focused on having some really strong responses to the totally predictable questions about J6 “insurrection”, “election denial” and being a “convicted felon”.

Also there is the totally predictable lies Biden will tell about how the economy’s booming, the millions of jobs allegedly created, Trump is the first President since Hoover to lose jobs etc. I hope Trump will have some very incisive answers that emphatically slap those lies down. Now there’s the newest BS with those 16 Nobel laureates that Biden will announce.

For what, the 100th time? Biden’s staff will not allow replacement while he is close in the polls, and actually leads in some. They have zero reason to allow replacement. It would deprive them of their positions if the Democrat wins. That replacement will have his own entourage taking their jobs.

And make no mistake here, the staff will be telling Biden what to do. They can construct super rational arguments to make happen what the staff wants to happen. He won’t be involved, particularly.

Bowing out ends their jobs, and if the Dem wins they won’t even get a position in the new Administration.

So no, there would have to be a 10% deficit in the RCP average before the DNC would have enough leverage to undo his staffers.

WIKI

“Fortune favours the bold” or “fortune favours the brave” are among the English translations of the Latin proverb “audentes Fortuna iuvat” and its variations. The phrase has been widely used as a slogan in the Western world to emphasize the rewards of courage and bravery, particularly within military organizations, and it is also used up to the present day on the coats of arms of numerous families and clans. It has historically served as a popular motto for universities, along with other academic institutions and recreational associations.

If you don’t like elections being called into question, make the election processes less susceptible to fraud.

I and others stated the reasons I thought the election was stolen before. I will repeat the reasons insomuch as the debate timeframe allows.

You can ask me to further elaborate in following two-minute timeframes, if you choose to do so.

In Georgia....

In Wisconsin....

Jack Smith should read the Constitution:

Article II. Section 1.

The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States.

Yup, I was the absolute master of executive branch documents when I was President.

All executive branch orders and executive branch document marking regulations with respect to executive branch documents have no legal priority over the Constitution.

Alright. Thank you.
I recall a smidgen of latin, having served as an Altar Boy at my Catholic church in the early 60s. But that was s whole lifetime ago. Nobody comes up to me and says, out of the blue: “Dominos Vobiscum!

The only statement on my 'about' page.

.....or did you really mean 'luvat' ?

This is all nonsense from the left media. Trump needs a dream team. Fresh new gutsy blood on the ticket, someone with fire in the belly to pass the reins of power to for the next generation, after his term is up, and to scare the bejesus out of our enemies abroad. At 39, JD Vance fills the bill as VP. Trump also needs to reprise Flynn as SECDEF so he can command the military to begin deportations on a massive scale, Bannon at WH, and nominate Mark Levin to clean house as DOJ/AG and end lawfare forever. If he chooses any of the back-stabbing DC career politician RINO’s who have been breathing down his neck since 2016, we are toast.

I suspect a dirty trick....

IMHO, the week prepping BIDEN for the debate was spent priming yet another fake BIDEN to take his place. One who doesn’t use drugs and has his mannerisms down pat.

So...what if JFK JR. was NOT in the plane that crashed on July 16, 1999, and JFK JR is still alive.
And Trump picked him for VP in 2024. Would that raise the roof?

Well, if they came to just you, they’d say, “Dominus tecum.” (vobiscum is “with you”-plural).

That’s true.
Some used to say Latin was so easy to learn. because it is the root tongue of most western languages.
To me, it would be Italian that is the closest to latin, not English.

Well, you’re absolutely right that Italian is the closest extant language to Latin. I took “tre anni” of Latin in high school, but I have a young family member taking it in school now so I’ve had fun revisiting the subject while helping the kid study. I find it fascinating, though, that there are actually some Latin words that survived in English but not Italian. Example: “uncle” from the classical Latin “avunculus” whereas Italians use “zio” from the Greek “theios” (which was Latinized into “tius” or “tio” in Spanish).
