Stabnding is when there are five votes not to decide an issue. The Court has absolutely no consistent principles on the matter. Not thr liberals. Not the conservatives. And not the ball less moderate three (Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Barrett). The sooner one accepts that it’s a cover for indecision the closer to reality one gets.

Not the issue, but standing.

Oh, I know what you meant. But, apparently, the acceptance of "standing" before the court is a hairy issue in and of itself.

Yup, apparently. It’s just ludicrous that it would take months to decide standing. It’s why I suspect political dynamics at work behind the scenes.

And before someone comes at me, I’m well aware my definition in the first sentence is MY definition, not the real one. But I think it’s correct more often than not, at least with the Supreme Court.

And we need all the hope we can get at this point.

I’d said earlier that Rahimi was not a good case for Second Amendment supporters to hang their hat on. It was not.

The left is all excited because they read the Court’s opinion in Rahimi as practically reversing Bruen. It wasn’t, but Roberts’ wording of the opinion has the left celebrating that they can now put all types of restrictions on the Second Amendment and do not have to look at historical precedent.

Couple that with the government’s declaration from yesterday that gun deaths are a public health issue, and get ready for more and more restrictive gun laws citing Rahimi in support.

Federalist Society pre-picked them.

Thank you for the correction.

My bad - I got my "professional conservative" organizations mixed up.

The Federalist Society is a mixed bag; they can make some solid recommendations (Gorsuch) and some not-so-solid (Barrett).
