The cover sheets should bother you because there is no way they would have them prepared at the time of the raid. They were prepared in advance.
The fact they were laid out and displayed was an obvious attempt to make Trump look guilty. We have no idea what was under those cover sheets.
They could have been instructions for fixing a furnace.

I put in “of themselves” because cover sheets can be used for good (e.g., for documenting the documents), or ill (like MISUSING the cover sheets in a dirty trick, to prejudice the public against Trump). As you say, the Feds could have put false fronts on anything (and probably did) for their faked “document perp walk”.
Creating cover sheets at M-a-L would have been easy. The Feds need only have brought a laptop (or tablet or smartphone) and a portable printer. Add a few specifics to cover sheet template documents, then print them then and there.
Thinking about this made me wonder: wouldn’t the FBI have brought security-credentialed photographers to systematically photograph and/or video each room, then each box in each room, then each document or other items being pulled from each box? This would establish a very hard to refute chain of custody for everything seized. Where is it?
Assuming they haven’t already, Trump’s lawyers should demand production of digital copies of ALL photos and videos made during the raid (preferably mirrored images of the entire drives/devices that recorded them in the first place). If the DoJ/FBI said no such pics/vids were made, they should be hammered for NOT having made them, and thus having no provable chain of custody. If Jack Smith has evidence that would make his cover sheet/mis-filing problems go away, I’m guessing he would have mentioned it by now.
