The word “boy” is meant to sand off the rough edges of resentment by normal people.
In another context “boy” is a fighting word making a black person recoil in anger, a leftover from the Jim Crow days.

For me, I just saw a rerun of the Criminal Minds episode in which an 8 year old violent psychopath criminal killed children and as he was finally stopped by the agents was trying to beat a sweet little girl to death with a baseball bat in the woods.

Much worse was Henry Messner on Law and Order Special Victims “Born Psychopath.” Age 10, tortured and killed, then released as “cured” at eighteen and did much worse.

“boys”

Yes but the TV stories are just fiction...though they might have been drawn from some real life occurences.

I see the future every night in my hospitals ‘’secure holding unit’’.(’’the flight deck’’.) and it's grim.

10 and 12 year old kids in there for beating their siblings half to death, assaulting and injuring their parents. We had a teenage kid , just before Covid who beat his mothers brains in and killed her. I see these kids every night and day and it's getting worse and this is just a community hospital on The Jersey Shore.
