At my yearly physical the nurse had to ask if there’s was abuse going on in my home.
“It’s hard to do. I live alone”. She said she was sorry for asking-it’s her job.
Wow. That’s weird. What in the world would have prompted her to ask that?
I think I’ll ask some of the nurse at work if, unless there’s some obvious signs of abuse,if they ask that question.
You’ll both love this one; my husband was having a stent replaced at our local hospital and as they were prepping him a male nurse arrived to ask him some random health questions. Everything asked was pretty routine until he said (with a completely straight face), “is there any chance you could be pregnant?” My husband, hard of hearing, asked him to repeat the question to which he obliged. My husband didn’t answer the question and the male nurse moved on. I told him, the next time that question is asked of you, point at me (wife - female, of course) and say, “Ask him”.
